The Home Office Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team as part of the wider HR function, provides professional health, safety and wellbeing policy, guidance, advice, expertise, support and assurance to approximately 36,000 Home Office staff based around the globe. The variety of roles in the Home Office offers a fascinating range of work, and the team have been heavily involved in work to support the organisation through COVID-19 recovery management.

The team owns and manages the Health & Wellbeing Strategy and works strategically to drive business improvement in wellbeing and mental health through staff champions, networks and business leads, supporting and promoting leadership capability development, organisational culture change, stress risk assessment and ‘good work’ design, education and campaigns, employee support interventions and impact evaluation through management information and wellbeing audits.

The post-holder will have the opportunity to play a significant role in shaping the Home Office wellbeing offering as part of a friendly team.

The team are looking for a creative, innovative, analytical, service-focused self-starter with drive, good leadership skills and initiative to support the Health and Wellbeing Strategy Lead and business through the implementation of the Home Office Health & Wellbeing Strategy.

The successful post-holder will be a qualified occupational psychologist with a keen interest in strategic wellbeing and mental health, cognisant of the value of health, safety and wellbeing to the department and our valued people. The post-holder will have a broad range of skills, ideally with experience of working both strategically and operationally with stakeholders at all levels of seniority with confidence, to a high standard and with minimal supervision. The post-holder will be a relationship-builder, comfortable with working at pace and responsibility in a challenging and sometimes fast-moving environment.

The post-holder will be expected to undertake some UK travel and occasional overnight stays.

The successful post holder will be expected to meet CTC security clearance.

The role has flexibility to work from home a certain number of days each week.
